Video Graphic Art

Local artist and videographer Thomas Lewis has been experimenting with a way to use video for art and not just by making a movie. Primarily he has been working with a technique called video mapping, which uses complex programming to utilize oddly-shaped objects and three dimensional objects as surfaces for video projection. Thomas Lewis has several other interesting projects, not the least of which recently won him and Word on the Street a 5x5 grant from PUP. In this video, Lewis discusses the inspiration behind his recent show at Gallery 924. You can catch him, and more of his work, on First Friday at his studio in the Circle City Industrial Complex.
