TTKs are Sky Blue Window's 'Things to Know,' events, ideas and cultural creations that we think are worthy of your time and attention.
Moms will talk. And share. "Listen to Your Mother" will be "Giving Motherhood a Microphone" as the national series' motto declares. What began three years ago as a show of original live readings by local writers on stages in five different cities has grown to include readings in 32 cities from coast to coast and 400 stories to be shared live at podiums in local venues and globally via social media.
Topics cover every imaginable aspect of motherhood, from the universal "been there done that" variety to thought-provoking unique takes on all things Mom-related. Presented poignantly, hilariously and always warmly, the stories cast for the readings have been culled down from thousands of submitted entries. The dozen local storytellers will share their personal experiences such as single parenting while battling cancer and the humorous realities of living with adorable but challenging tiny humans.

This year Michelle McNally and Judy Miller produced Indianapolis' "Listen to Your Mother" by reading countless stories, auditioning local writers who submitted them and then casting the final selections.
You can celebrate motherhood and support a good cause -- Partners in Housing -- by catching one of the shows starting tomorrow (Sunday, April 27) at the Basile Theater of the Indiana Historical Society at 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and the PG13-rated show here and those staged nationally will run the two weeks leading up to and including Mother's Day (May 11).
