Fiber artist Marco Querin is creating a site-specific exhibit for IMOCA in the Murphy Arts Building in Fountain Square that will include four of his classic, abstract tapestries as well as four new three-dimensional pieces and an assemblage of four pieces made with animal hair held by metal wire containers. Querin hand pulls wool and cotton to cover the entirety of his canvases, with hundreds of nails supporting each of the designs. He typically uses both natural and man-made threads and fibers, although he has incorporated copper, wood, and photographs in some pieces.
