Ever wanted to perform on stage?
Been mustering up the courage to test a new song, poem or comedy routine in front of an audience -- one other than your buddies who've heard your routine following a few too many Rum Chatas at the bar?
You're in luck, because there's a new open mic night in town.
Deuce's Tap the Mic at Tow Yard Brewing Co. offers a one-stop shop for live performances and house-brewed beer. The inaugural event kicks off tonight (Feb. 12) at 7 o'clock.

Free parking, free admission and a free stage. That's hard to beat -- especially if you're eager to perform but just need a mic and an audience.
Deuce Indy, the former X-103 FM afternoon host and assistant program director, says that after spending more than 20 years working in the music industry, including 13 years in Orlando, he wanted to put together an event that spotlights local talent in his Hoosier hometown.
Deuce's Tap the Mic is the vehicle he's using to do just that.
Instead of focusing solely on music, it's an open invitation to all artists.
"My passion is local talent, and I love all types of art forms -- from music to poetry to theater and comedy," he says. "I think downtown Indy is a great place to showcase that."
In addition to giving people a platform to display their talents, Deuce is hopeful that Tap the Mic will bring cohesiveness to the local music/arts scene that draws a supportive crowd.
"I want to see this develop into a local community event, with a cool vibe, that gets people besides performers to come and watch unheard, brand new talent."
Deuce's Tap the Mic is presented by Pharsyde Entertainment and Tow Yard Brewing Co.
