Indiana, Elephant Graveyard

Underneath Indiana's soil lies a hidden graveyard of Ice Age giants. Entombed for thousands of years, the remains of these ancient elephants continue to be uncovered by Hoosiers across the state. The Indiana State Museum has been hard at work for decades - discovering, digging, studying and preserving the remains of these prehistoric creatures.

WFYI visits with Indiana State Museum Senior Research Curator of Paleobiology Ron Richards to learn about the hidden treasures scattered throughout Hoosier soil, on display through August 17 in Ice Age Giants: The Mystery of Mammoths and Mastodons.
