Maybe if you were at Woodstock back in 1969 it was a great event. Maybe. But from watching the movie ‘Woodstock’ it looked like a rainy, muddy mess, complete with a sprinkling of outhouses used by hundreds of thousands of people. And then Alvin Lee straps on his guitar, quickly introduces “I’m Going Home” by Helicopter, and shreds. According to Lee, the movie launched the band – and to a greater degree rock ‘n roll – into the era of commercialism it’s still in. Going home indeed.
