Our Gift Local series provides a nearly daily cavalcade of smart, creative gift ideas designed to make your holidays merry and artful. We’re asking local tastemakers, arts leaders and curators of culture for their ideas for best bets.

Today’s Gift Giver: Brooke Lindemann, the designer behind Leather/Feather/Stone, a collection of clutches, cross body bags, tassels, earring and more created from locally sourced hides. You can find her work on Etsy, at Parlour Salon in Muncie, Moto Moda in Nashville, Tennessee, and at the Pattern Store, where she’ll be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at a special meet-the-maker event. She’ll also be at Madewell at the Fashion Mall on Dec. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Her Recommendation: For the Love of Letters, a collection of signs, stationery, decals, stamps, magnets and more, all featuring her hand-drawn lettering and drawings made by a communications firm expat and artist mama, Erin Barrett.

Why: “Erin takes things that you’ve heard a lot, just bits and pieces of sayings, and she makes them special with her super-cute handwriting. I bought one of her prints that says, ‘It’s all sh—s and giggles until someone giggles and sh—s. She’s a very cheerful person, and it shows in her very happy work. She does custom work and has a mass-produced line, too.”
