Faking it

On the first Tuesday of each month, The White Rabbit Cabaret hosts a lineup of funny frauds. For more than a year, An Evening with the Authors* has entertained crowds with an evening of literary nonsense.

The show poses as an NPR program, hosted by Dana Glass, the fictional and angsty cousin of NPR's Ira Glass. Dana invites a number of authors to come in and read from their books. The catch here is these authors, and their works, are fake. The authors are actually some of Indy's best character performers and comedians. Each month, they come up with a new character and perform ten minutes of comedy as that character.

You can catch An Evening With The Authors* the first Tuesday of every month at The White Rabbit Cabaret in Fountain Square. In the meantime, the video Straight Jackets to Dust Jackets: A Look Between the Pages of An Evening With The Authors* gives a peek at some of the regular performers and explores the ripple effect the show is having on the Indy comedy scene.
